Agreed. Good observations.

By the time Bayou Country was recorded, the band was beginning to really find its indentity - thanks for the most part I'm sure to John Fogerty. The creative juices were really starting to flow. The intro to Born on the Bayou, and the entire song is a prime example - nothing like what they did previously. And, of course, Proud Mary, my favorite CCR single. It says something about Fogerty, from that time period, that what is most popularly thought as their signature song was on an early album.

If I had to choose my favorite CCR song, I would have to say Born on the Bayou.

Interesting for me that two are from an early LP, and one from their last LP.

But, keep in mind, I also loved everything in between!
