I agree with Robert... I think much of the appeal of Hoodoo comes out of the fact that it has never been released, and that the only recordings we have of it are very poor quality copies. If it had been released normally, I'm quite sure it would rank pretty low compared to John's other albums, even though there are a couple of good songs on it. To me, Hoodoo is a bit the same as Eye Of The Zombie: John trying very hard to sound contemporary, with the result that by now both albums sound outdated. Personally, the only songs I really like on it are Leave My Woman Alone (great guitar work there!), Hoodoo Man and Henrietta, two covers and one original song.

Tastes differ, of course, but I really can't imagine Hoodoo being a 'classic'...
